James Comey and Robert Mueller Imperil the Rule of Law

The former FBI directors tend to investigate Republicans far more zealously than Democrats and come up empty. Is there a reason?

The Wall Street Journal

News broke last week about possible Russian wrongdoing in the U.S., and it didn’t involve the Trump campaign.

The Hill reported that in 2009 the FBI “gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States.”

The FBI kept that information from Congress and the public, the Hill reported, even as Hillary Clinton’s State Department in 2010 approved a deal that transferred control of more than 20% of America’s uranium supply to a Russian company. The Hill also reported the FBI had documents showing that during this period Russia engineered the transmission of millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation.

The FBI director at the time: Robert Mueller, now special counsel in charge of investigating “Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election and related matters.” The revelations can only heighten anxieties about Mr. Mueller, the FBI and the rule of law.

The special counsel’s open-ended mandate covers not only “any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump” but also “any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation.”
Because Mr. Mueller has interpreted his mandate expansively, his effort may become the most politically disruptive federal investigation of our young century—more than the FBI’s investigation of Mrs. Clinton’s private email server and mishandling of classified information, more than Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald’s investigation into the 2003 disclosure of CIA employee Valerie Plame’s identity.

All three investigations have one important characteristic in common: James Comey, Mr. Mueller’s successor as FBI director, played a dubious role in each.

In December 2003, after Attorney General John Ashcroft recused himself from the Plame matter, then-Deputy Attorney General Comey named Mr. Fitzgerald—a close friend who was godfather to one of Mr. Comey’s children—as special counsel to head the Justice Department’s “investigation into the alleged unauthorized disclosure” of Ms. Plame’s employment.

Unknown to the public then, and still not widely known, that potential crime had already been solved. By early fall 2003, the CIA had determined that revealing Ms. Plame’s identity caused no injury to national security, while the FBI knew it was not a White House official—as many Democrats and liberal pundits ardently believed—but rather Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage who was columnist Robert Novak’s source for the original Plame story.
Mr. Fitzgerald declined to prosecute Mr. Armitage, but he played hardball with the Bush White House. Over several years, Mr. Fitzgerald inflicted severe damage by feeding the false accusation that the president had lied the nation into the Iraq war.

The only criminal charges he prosecuted were generated by his investigation. He won a 2007 conviction of I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, for obstruction of justice, false statements and perjury.

The conviction was based on small inconsistencies Mr. Fitzgerald discovered in (or created from) more than 20 hours of Mr. Libby’s FBI interrogation and grand-jury testimony. Star prosecution witness Judith Miller wrote in her 2015 memoir that Mr. Fitzgerald had withheld crucial information and manipulated her memory, inducing her to testify falsely against Mr. Libby.

In contrast, then-FBI Director Comey played softball with the 2015-16 Hillary Clinton investigation. Despite the gravity of the matter—military service members can be court-martialed and discharged for sending classified information on nonsecure systems—Mr. Comey mostly avoided issuing subpoenas and cooperated with the Obama Justice Department in obscuring the investigation’s criminal character.

He permitted Mrs. Clinton and her team to destroy evidence and granted generous immunity deals to her advisers. He drafted a statement exonerating Mrs. Clinton months before the FBI interviewed her. And his FBI neither recorded the interview nor compelled her to answer questions under oath.

In addition, in a July 2016 press conference, Mr. Comey usurped the authority of Justice Department prosecutors by publicly exonerating Mrs. Clinton. In the process, he confused the pertinent legal issue by asserting she did not intend to violate the law. But intent wasn’t a necessary condition for a crime. Federal law criminalizes “gross negligence” in mishandling classified information. By Mr. Comey’s own account, Mrs. Clinton had been “extremely careless.”

With Mr. Trump, by contrast, Mr. Comey is playing hardball even after leaving government. In May, shortly after President Trump fired him, Mr. Comey—possibly in conflict with FBI policy—leaked notes of an Oval Office meeting with the president. His purpose, Mr. Comey publicly acknowledged, was to “prompt the appointment of a special counsel.”

Mr. Mueller is playing hardball too. Unlike the Clinton investigation into narrowly defined allegations, his mandate authorizes pursuit of unspecified crimes. That invites casting a wide net, which Mr. Mueller has done, exploring conduct that long predated the 2016 presidential campaign.

He has assembled a huge team that includes, in addition to FBI agents, 16 seasoned prosecutors, at least seven of whom have contributed money to Democratic candidates.

He might have extended his investigation to Mr. Trump’s business interests. And he is working with agents from the Internal Revenue Service’s criminal investigation unit, raising the possibility that he has obtained Mr. Trump’s tax returns.

Mr. Mueller has adopted scorched-earth tactics in pursuit of Paul Manafort, who ran Trump’s presidential campaign from June to August 2016. The special counsel’s team has reached back more than a decade into Mr. Manafort’s financial affairs and conducted a predawn, guns-drawn raid on his home on a day he was scheduled to testify before Congress as a cooperating witness.

One crucial difference distinguishes the probe of Mrs. Clinton from the two Comey-instigated special-counsel investigations of Republican administrations. Mr. Fitzgerald’s multiyear investigation of the Bush administration and Mr. Mueller’s ever-widening scrutiny of the Trump campaign exhibit a tenacious and nearly unconstrained search for persons and crimes to prosecute. In contrast, Mr. Comey’s investigation of Mrs. Clinton reflects a determination not to prosecute systematic and obvious unlawful conduct.

Both excesses threaten the rule of law—but the dogged search for persons and crimes to prosecute poses the graver threat to constitutional government.

Assault on the Kurds

By the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board.
Oct. 16, 2017

A central tenet of the Trump foreign policy, a work in progress, has been that the U.S. would rebuild its relationship with America’s allies. That commitment is being put to the test in northern Iraq.

Iraq’s army, assisted by Iranian forces, launched a major assault on the Kurds in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk. Across the length of America’s recent history with Iraq, we have had no more reliable ally than Iraq’s Kurds and their fighting force, the Peshmerga.

So far the Trump Administration has said little about the attack on the Kurds. “We’re not taking sides, but we don’t like the fact that they’re clashing,” President Trump told reporters at the White House Monday. “We’ve had, for many years, a very good relationship with the Kurds, as you know. And we’ve also been on the side of Iraq, even though we should have never been in there in the first place. But we’re not taking sides in that battle.”

But if the U.S. allows one of its most visible allies to be defeated in the Middle East, make no mistake: Other allies in the region will notice and start to recalculate their relationship with the Trump Administration.

The Iraqi Kurds, to be sure, have contributed to their current plight. Kurdish President Masoud Barzani went forward with a needless independence referendum last month, despite pressure from the U.S. not to hold the vote. The pro-forma vote gave the Baghdad government a pretext to play the nationalist card and retake Kirkuk.

Kirkuk is a multi-ethnic city that lies just south of Iraq’s Kurdistan, an autonomous region whose borders abut Iran and Turkey. The Kirkuk region is also rich in oil. The Kurds gained control of Kirkuk in 2014 after Iraq’s army famously fled under attack from Islamic State, which seized control of Mosul in June that year.
After the Iraqi forces abandoned the region, the Peshmerga became the primary reason that Islamic State was never able to consolidate its control of northern Iraq.

Arguably, the Kurds, backed by U.S. air power, saved Iraq by giving Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi time to reconstitute his nation’s army into a fighting force capable of driving Islamic State out of Iraq’s major cities, with the help of the Peshmerga.

Possibly the phrase “no good deed goes unpunished” originated in the Middle East. Having taken back Mosul from Islamic State, Mr. Abadi now wants to drive the Kurds back into their northern Iraqi homeland.

But the strategic details of this attack on the Kurds are important. Iraq’s offensive includes Iran. According to the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War, Iranian-backed militias and the 9th Iraqi Armored Division moved toward Kirkuk last week to support the Iraqi army.

The Abadi government in Baghdad is under constant pressure from Shiite Iran to align itself against the interest of Iraq’s Sunni populations in the north and west. It follows that after Iraq’s progress on the battlefield against Islamic State, Iran would encourage the Iraqis to drive the Kurds out of Kirkuk.

Notice this is all happening within days of President Trump decertifying the Iran nuclear deal, based in part on the assumption that Europe will support U.S. efforts to resist Iran’s ballistic-missile program and its penetrations across the Middle East. But what will the Europeans or our allies in the Middle East conclude if we abandon one of our oldest regional allies, the Iraqi Kurds?

The U.S. no doubt has lost much of the political leverage it had before the Obama Administration pulled out of Iraq in 2011. But abandoning the Kurds to an Iraq-Iran Shiite alliance would only deepen U.S. losses.

Before Iraq and the Kurds go to war, the U.S. could insist that Iraq reaffirm the autonomy of Iraqi Kurdistan and also that it work out an agreement to share revenue from the region’s oil reserves. The alternative to such a modus vivendi for Prime Minister Abadi is a capable Kurdish fighting force in a state of permanent insurrection.

The U.S. owes a debt to the Kurds. Abandoning them now would damage America’s credibility, and not least Mr. Trump’s ability to enlist allies against Iran’s expansion across the Middle East. The assault on Kirkuk matters.

Across the length of America’s recent history with Iraq, we have had no more reliable ally than Iraq’s Kurds and their fighting force, the Peshmerga.

What Trump has Accomplished in just 8 Months!

What Trump has Accomplished in just 8 Months!

Whistleblower Magazine October, 2017

Genuinely good news you will never hear from the establishment media

A mind boggling list is presented by Whistleblower Magazine October, 2017. The list is 12 pages long! I suggest you purchase the magazine in order to read it in its entirety. Unfortunately, It is not posted on the Internet.

Below is the introduction, I have listed just the subjects covered in the article.

Jerome S. Kaufman

Wit mainstream media and establishment politicians stacked against him from the moment he announced his run for the presidency, Donald J. Trump has been in an ongoing pitched battle to communicate his plans – and his eventual successes – to Americans. Through public rallies and social media, he has managed to bypass the traditional information gatekeepers and has spoken directly to the people.

Yet, Americans are subjected to a relentless drumbeat from the Democratic Party, amplified by virtually the entire establishment press, that Trump is not only undisciplined, unfit for office and possibly racist, but that embarrassingly little has been accomplished by the Trump administration.

And while he has befuddled and disappointed some – with major promisees such as Obamacare repeal and a border wall un fulfilled or put on the back burner – the stunning reality is this:

Donald Trump has amassed a long an remarkable list of actions and accomplishments that will surprise average Americans, even those who support the president and consider themselves well-informed politically.

Here, then, is an accounting of the truly significant achievements of the first 8 months of the Trump presidency, all the more noteworthy as they have been accomplished in an environment of unrelenting negativity on the part of not only the Democrats and almost the entire news media, but the Beltway establishment itself, the entire donor class, the “Deep State,” and even many Republicans wedded to the D.C. “Swamp.”

Can Europe Be Saved? (Or .. the US that is just behind?)

Review of ‘The Strange Death of Europe’ By Douglas Murray

In 2001, the European Union set about framing a constitution for itself. The Brussels mandarins had seen the future, and it looked transnationalist and technocratic—which is to say, it looked like the EU.

The document was to usher in a new European century. But decisive “No” votes in France and the Netherlands in 2005 meant that it was never adopted. Today the EU constitutional treaty is memorable for occasioning one of Pope John Paul II’s final, and most prophetic, political interventions. It had to do with the constitution’s preamble.
Since Christianity had shaped the “humanism of which Europe feels legitimately proud,” the ailing pontiff argued, the constitution should make some reference to Europe’s Christian patrimony. His appeal was met with accusations of bigotry.

The pope had inflamed the post-9/11 atmosphere of “Islamophobia,” one “anti-racism” outfit said. Another group asked: What about the contributions made by the “tolerant Islam of al-Andalus”? Former French President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing spoke for the political class: “Europeans live in a purely secular political system, where religion does not play an important role.”

Douglas Murray recounts this episode early on in his fiery, lucid, and essential polemic. It epitomized the folly of European elites who would sooner discard the Continent’s civilizational heritage than show partiality for their own culture over others’. To Murray, this tendency is quite literally suicidal—hence the “death” in his title.

The book deals mainly with Western Europe’s disastrous experiment in admitting huge numbers of Muslim immigrants without bothering to assimilate them. These immigrants now inhabit parallel communities on the outskirts of most major cities. They reject mainstream values and not infrequently go boom. Murray’s account ranges from the postwar guest-worker programs to the 2015 crisis that brought more than a million people from the Middle East and Africa.

This is dark-night-of-the-soul stuff. The author, a director at London’s Henry Jackson Society (where I was briefly a nonresident fellow), has for more than a decade been among Europe’s more pessimistic voices on immigration. My classically liberal instincts primed me to oppose him at every turn. Time and again, I found myself conceding that, indeed, he has a point. This is in large part because I have been living in and reporting on Europe for nearly four years. Events of the period have vindicated Murray’s bleak vision and confounded his critics.

Murray is right: Time isn’t mellowing out Europe’s Muslims. “The presumption of those who believed in integration is that in time everybody who arrives will become like Europeans,” Murray writes. Yet it is the young who are usually the most fanatical. Second- and third-generation immigrants make up the bulk of the estimated 5,000 Muslims who have gone off to fight with the Islamic State.

The first large wave of Muslim immigrants to Britain arrived soon after World War II. Seven decades later, an opinion survey conducted (in 2016) by the polling firm ICM found that half of Muslim Britons would proscribe homosexuality, a third would legalize polygamy, and a fifth would replace civil law with Shariah.

A different survey, also conducted in 2016, found that 83 percent of young French Muslims describe their faith as “important or very important” to them, compared with 22 percent of young Catholics. I could go on with such polling data; Murray does for many pages.

He is also correct that all the various “integration” models have failed. Whether it is consensus-based social democracy in the Nordic countries, multiculturalism in Britain, or republican secularism in France, the same patterns of disintegration and social in-cohesion persist nearly everywhere. Different European governments have treated this or that security measure, economic policy, or urban-planning scheme as the integration panacea, to no avail.

Murray argues that the successive failures owe to a basic lack of political will. To prove the point he cites, among other things, female genital mutilation in the UK. Laws against the practice have been on the books for three decades. Even so, an estimated 130,000 British women have had their genitals cut, and not a single case has been successfully prosecuted.

Pusillanimity and retreat have been the norm among governments and cultural elites on everything from FGM to free speech to counterterrorism. The result has been that the “people who are most criticized both from within Muslim communities in Europe and among the wider population are in fact the people who fell hardest for the integration promises of liberal Europe.”

It was Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the fierce Somali-born proponent of Enlightenment values and women’s equality, who had to escape Holland under a death threat, not her persecutors.

And Murray is right when he says that Europeans hadn’t staged a real debate on immigration until very recently. The author might be too quick to dismiss the salutary fiscal and social effects of economic growth and immigration’s role in promoting it. At various points he even suggests that Europeans forgo economic as well as population growth if it means having to put up with fewer migrants. He praises hermetically sealed Japan, but he elides the Japanese model’s serious economic, demographic, and even psychological disadvantages.

All this is secondary to Murray’s unanswerable argument that European elites had for years cordoned off immigration from normal political debate. As he writes, “whereas the benefits of mass immigration undoubtedly exist and everybody is made very aware of them, the disadvantages of importing huge numbers of people from another culture take a great deal of time to admit to.”

In some cases, most notably the child-sex grooming conspiracy in Rotherham, England, the institutions have tried to actively suppress the truth. Writes Murray: “Instead of carrying out their jobs without fear or favor, police, prosecutors, and journalists behaved as though their job was to mediate between the public and the facts.”

Is it possible to imagine an alternative history, one in which Europe would absorb this many migrants from Islamic lands but suffer fewer and less calamitous harms? Murray’s surprising answer is yes. Had Europe retained its existential confidence over the course of the previous two centuries, things might have turned out differently. As it was, however, mass migration saw a “strong religious culture”—Islam—“placed into a weak and relativistic culture.”

In the book’s best chapters, Murray departs from the policy debate to attend to the sources of Europe’s existential insecurity. Germans bear much of the blame, beginning with 19th-century Bible scholarship that applied the methods of history, philology, and literary criticism to sacred scripture. That pulled the rug of theological certainty from under Europe’s feet, in Murray’s account, and then Darwin’s discoveries heightened the disorientation. Europeans next tried to substitute totalistic ideology for religion, with catastrophic results.

Finally, after World War II, they settled on human rights as the central meaning of Europe. But since Europeans could no longer believe, these rights were cut off from one of their main wellsprings: the Judeo-Christian tradition.

The Catholic Church—having circumscribed the power of earthly kings across centuries and thereby “injected an anti-totalitarian vaccine into the European bloodstream,” as George Weigel has written in these pages–was scorned or ignored. Europeans forgot how they came to be free.

Somehow Europe must recover its vitality. But how? Murray is torn. On one hand, he sees how a rights-based civilization needs a theological frame, lest it succumb before a virile and energetic civilization like Islam. On the other, he thinks the leap of faith is impossible today. Murray can’t blame François, the professor-protagonist of Michel Houellebecq’s 2016 novel Submission.
Faced with an Islamic takeover of France, François heads to a monastery desperate to shake his spiritual torpor. But kneeling before the Virgin doesn’t do anything for him. Islam, with its simplicity and practicality (not least the offer of up to four nubile wives), is much harder to resist.

Murray wonders whether the answer lies in art. Maybe in beauty Europeans can recover the fulfillment and sense of mystery that their ancestors once found in liturgy–only without the cosmic truth claims.

He laments that contemporary European art has “given up that desire to connect us to something like the spirit of religion,” though it is possible that the current period of crisis will engender a revival.

In the meanwhile, Murray has suggested, even nonbelievers should go to church as a way to mark and show gratitude for Christianity’s foundational role in Europe. He is onto something. Figure out the identity bit in the book’s subtitle—“Immigration, Identity, Islam”—and the other two will prove much easier to sort out. (Huh?)

How the Goyim (Gentiles) treated the Jews over the centuries

(A most abbreviated chronology)

Compiled by Jerome S. Kaufman from many of the weekly entries in the Jewish Press posted by columnist Jeff Reznik plus italicized additions and commentary by Jerome S. Kaufman

After Rosh Hashanah (The Jewish New Year) I like to publish a reminder of how the Gentile (Goyim) world has treated the Jews over the centuries. Unfortunately, this same treatment is now being repeated in many ways but, this time by militant Muslims invading Europe and easily finding a fertile ground from which to expand their hatred.

Israel is, in fact, used to mask militant Islam’s true intention to create a Sharia world.  The re-birth of Israel in 1948 is used as the excuse for venting militant Islam’s  awful hatred and their fear of world progress which could eventually dismantle their own archaic, self-destructive centuries-old misdirection.

And again, this ploy is gleefully enjoined by the same mindless, hate-filled, jealous non-Jews that participated in the Holocaust throughout Europe before, during and after WW II

To follow  is a very partial list of important dates in the history which barely scratches the surface. Also, please note that when it comes to recording the dates of events in ancient history, there are major  discrepancies between various biblical and temporal sources. But, no matter. The end results are the same.

By the way:

Israel’s official calendar is the Hebrew one based upon a lunar rather than solar year. According to this calculation, on September 21, 2017, Rosh Hashana eve, we entered the Hebrew year 5778, that is – the supposed year since the earth was created, by G-d, on Saturday night, October 6, 3761 BCE!

Winston Churchill Memorable Quote:  “Some people like the Jews, and some do not. But no thoughtful man can deny the fact that they are, beyond any question, the most formidable and most remarkable race which has appeared in the world.”

G-d in the Bible told the Israelis to occupy the land all the way from Euphrates River to the Great Sea (Mediterranean) — a land mass hundreds of miles greater than the amount of land the League of Nations and later the United Nations, in their ultimate wisdom? reluctantly designated for a Jewish Homeland after WWI and WWII.

As we are well aware, there is nothing new about anti-Semitism. Successive Gentile and now Muslim generations continue to use the Jew as a useful tool to blame for their own inadequacies — frequently when there is not a Jew  within thousands of miles to shoulder the blame!

Now to a small smattering of important dates:

3631 BCE Cain killed his brother Abel
2000 BCE – 1700BCE Period of the Hebrew Biblical Patriots
2121 BCE Jews entered biblical Canaan, their promised homeland, fulfilling G-d’s prophesy
2105 BCE Noah’s arc ends its journey landing on Mt. Arafat marking end of the flood
1812 BCE – Abraham, founder of the Jewish people, was born
1696 BCE – Abraham, with complete dedication to the command of G-d, took his son, Isaac,  to Mt. Moriah, bond him and prepared to sacrifice him following G-d’s instructions. Mt. Moriah was the future site of the Hebrew Holy Temple in Jerusalem

(This Hebrew Temple is the same one that the Arabs built over and called their own dating to their conquest of the land some 2300 years later. They, with the usual figments of their imagination, describe themselves as the original occupants! This gross lie continues and aggrandizes to this very day while the Israeli government watches with their thumbs in their mouths, not effectively challenging this obscene, gross historical lie.)
1652 BCE – Rivkah, wife of Isaac,  gave birth to twins Jacob and Esau with Jacob holding on to Esau’s heel on the way out.
1568 BCE – Reuven, Jacob’s first son was born to Leah
1556 BCE – Jacob left his father-in-law Laban’s home, the father of Rachel and Leah. Labron had taken advantage of Jacob for 14 plus years after Laban’s staged marriage of Jacob to Leah
1555 BCE Birth of Benjamin, Jacob’s last son to his wife Rachel
1532 BCE Joseph, the second last son of Jacob, was released from Egyptian prison beginning the history of the Hebrew’s eventual exodus from Egypt to establish Israel’s homeland in Canaan
1392 BCE – Birth of Moses who  lived for 120 years
1312 BCE Egyptians smitten with plague of darkness. One of the 10 plagues assessed upon them by Hashem forcing them to let his people go, as  commemorated at the Passover service.
1312 BCE – Moses ascended Mt. Sinai to receive the Torah
1311 BCE – Moses sent spies to report on the lay of the land in Canaan
1280 BCE Jews left Egypt – (Big debate over some of these BCE dates, which obviously don’t always correlate.)
1274 BCE Death of Miriam, sister of Moses and Aaron, age 126
1273 BCE Jews crossed Jordan to Jericho to receive G-d’s gift of Canaan to later become Israel, homeland of the Jews.
1274 BCE Moses Sister Miriam dies at age 126 childless – some conjecture due to thoughtless criticism of her brother called lashon Hora
1243 BCE – death of Joshua, Moses successor
1005-965 BCE King David rules for 40 years in Judea (Israel)
928 BCE – 586 BCE Duration of First Temple. First Jewish (Hebrew) Commonwealth
722 BCE Assyrian conquest of the 10 Israeli Tribes of North and their disappearance — the 10 lost tribes.  Judah remained as the Southern kingdom and from which all subsequent Jews are descended
586 BCE First Temple destroyed by Babylonians, The siege of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar in 588 BCE, End of First Commonwealth

523 BCE – King Achashveirosh endorses Haman’s plan to destroy all the Jews of Persia. Queen Esther thwarts the plan and has Haman executed in the same manner he planned to eliminate the Jews. Celebrated in holiday of Purim

520 BCE Second Temple completed. Begun 537 BCE when King Darius of Persia allowed the Jews to return to Israel  Beginning of Second Commonwealth , terminated with Roman Conquest of Hebrews 70 AD, Third Hebrew Commonwealth to begin with re-construction of Third Temple. in State of Israel But Israeli government too confused and obtuse to understand Hashem direction.
515 BCE Esther meets King Achashveirosh and saves the Jews from extinction by Haman (Celebrated in the Jewish holiday of Purim)
165 BCE – Victory of Maccabees over Romans, Commemorated by Holiday of Chanukah
4 BCE death of King Herod in Judea  (King 37 BCE – 4 BCE).He was the Roman King in power at the beginning of Christian Era,  at the time of Jesus’s Christ reputed Crucifixion.
Following the creation of Christianity, the organized, dedicated persecution began in earnest with purpose and aforethought.
70 CE – Romans destroyed the Second Temple and forced Jewish Diaspora from their biblical homeland. The return of the Jews finally began officially with Israel’s War of Independence from Britain, May 14, 1948. But, in fact, the Jews have remained in Israel throughout  the centuries, always constituting the majority in Jerusalem.
100CE – 220CE Period of recording of the Mishnah (Oral Law) Early Talmud Period
354-430 CE  St. Augustine Confessions, 12.14: How hateful to me are the enemies of your Scripture! How I wish that you would slay them (the Jews) with your two-edged sword, so that there should be none to oppose your word! Gladly would I have them die to themselves and live to you!”
(Hmm… No wonder Christians grew up to hate Jews for centuries and participated with such enthusiasm in the Holocaust!) jsk

3rd Century to 500 CE – Later Talmudic Period
300CE-500 CE Gemara – Commentary on Oral Law (Later Talmudic Period
– Late 4th Century – Christianity became state religion of Roman Empire
418 Jews were prohibited from holding office in the Roman Empire
5th CE Persia – Religious persecution prevented Jews from saying their daily prayers
640 CE – 1028 CE
7th Century Mohammed defeated Jews for first time in battle of Khyber
732 AD The Muslim Army that was moving on Paris was defeated and turned back at Tours , France, by Charles Martell.
1045 Rashi, the foremost Torah scholar of medieval France, was born in a northern town Troyes. 1095 Nov 26, First Crusade began. (1096-99), which occurred toward the end of Rashi’s life.
Despite the French community’s initial fears, it was Jewish small villages in Germany that bore the brunt of the Crusaders’ wrath, with entire communities being slaughtered.

1096 Jews in Germany killed by First Crusaders as they plundered through Europe on way to Holy Land
1096 Crusaders kill 297 of the 300 Jews in German town of Eller in 2 day massacre
1099 First Crusade attacked Jerusalem

16th Century to Now – Rabbinic Authoritarian Period
1105 Death of Rashi, author of commentaries on the Bible and Talmud
1321 – Jews of Chinon, France accused of poisoning well to cause epidemic in Christian community.160 Jews burned at stake.
1135-1204 Time of Maimonides (The Rambam) Creator of Mishnah Torah – His code of Jewish Law,
1147 Second Crusade

1163  China – Kaifeng’s Jews built a large and beautiful synagogue, which was subsequently renovated and rebuilt on numerous occasions throughout the centuries. At its peak, during the Ming Dynasty (1368- 1644), the Kaifeng Jewish community may have numbered as many as 5,000 people. By the 17th century, a number of Chinese Jews had attained high ranks in the Chinese civil service, but along with success, came the blight of assimilation, which took an increasingly heavy toll on the community and its cohesion.
As a result, by the mid-1800s, the Chinese Jews’ knowledge and practice of Judaism had largely faded away. The last rabbi of the community is believed to have died in the early part of the 19th century, and the synagogue was all but destroyed by a series of floods which struck the city in the 1840s and thereafter.

UN Resolution 181 – The Partition Plan
November 29, 1947

In 1947 the British put the future of western Palestine into the hands of the United Nations, the successor organization to the League of Nations which had established the “Mandate for Palestine.” A UN Commission recommended partitioning what was left of the original Mandate – western Palestine – into two new states, one Jewish and one Arab. Jerusalem and its surrounding villages were to be temporarily classified as an international zone belonging to neither polity.
What resulted was Resolution 181 [known also as the 1947 Partition Plan], a non-binding recommendation to partition Palestine, whose implementation hinged on acceptance by both parties – Arabs and Jews. The resolution was adopted on November 29, 1947 in the General Assembly by a vote of 33-12, with 10 abstentions. Among the supporters were the United States and the Soviet Union, as well as other nations including France and Australia. The Arab nations, including Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia denounced the plan on the General Assembly floor and voted as a bloc against Resolution 181 promising to defy its implementation by force.

The resolution recognized the need for immediate Jewish statehood [and a parallel Arab state], but the blueprint for peace became a moot issue when the Arabs refused to accept it. Subsequently, realities on the ground in the wake of Arab aggression [and Israel’s survival] became the basis for UN efforts to bring peace

The Iran Deal Isn’t Worth Saving – By Ambassador John Bolton

The idea of ‘decertifying’ the agreement but staying in it is too cute by half. Trump should cut cleanly.

By John Bolton

Sept. 28, 2017 6:32 p.m. ET

‘Cut, and cut cleanly,” Sen. Paul Laxalt advised Ferdinand Marcos in 1986, urging the Philippine president to resign and flee Manila because of widespread civil unrest. The Nevada Republican, Ronald Reagan’s best friend in Congress, knew what his president wanted, and he made the point with customary Western directness.

President Trump could profitably follow Mr. Laxalt’s advice today regarding Barack Obama’s 2015 deal with Iran. The ayatollahs are using Mr. Obama’s handiwork to legitimize their terrorist state, facilitate (and conceal) their continuing nuclear-weapons and ballistic-missile programs, and acquire valuable resources from gullible negotiating partners.

Mr. Trump’s real decision is whether to fulfill his campaign promise to extricate America from this strategic debacle. Last week at the United Nations General Assembly, he lacerated the deal as an “embarrassment,” “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into.”
Fearing the worst, however, the deal’s acolytes are actively obscuring this central issue, arguing that it is too arduous and too complex to withdraw cleanly. They have seized instead on a statutory requirement that every 90 days the president must certify, among other things, that adhering to the agreement is in America’s national-security interest. They argue the president should stay in the deal but not make the next certification, due in October.

This morganatic strategy is a poorly concealed ploy to block withdrawal, limp through Mr. Trump’s presidency, and resurrect the deal later. Paradoxically, supporters are not now asserting that the deal is beneficial. Instead, they concede its innumerable faults but argue that it can be made tougher, more verifiable and more strictly enforced. Or, if you want more, it can be extended, kicked to Congress, or deferred during the North Korea crisis. Whatever.

As Richard Nixon said during Watergate: “I want you to stonewall it, let them plead the Fifth Amendment, cover up, or anything else if it’ll save it—save the plan.”

Mr. Trump should not be deceived. The issue is not certification. The issue is whether we will protect U.S. interests and shatter the illusion that Mr. Obama’s deal is achieving its stated goals, or instead timidly hope for the best while trading with the enemy, as the Europeans are doing. It is too cute by half to employ pettifoggery to evade this reality.

U.N. Security Council Resolution 2231 embodies the deal and includes two annexes: the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action itself, and a statement by the other negotiating parties on “transparency . . . creating an atmosphere conducive” to full JCPOA implementation.
Resolution 2231, the JCPOA and the statement were all crafted word-for-word with Iran (with Russia and China acting as Tehran’s scriveners on the statement), as was the cash-for-hostages swap Mr. Obama sought desperately to conceal. This packaging is more than a diplomatic nicety. It means Iran’s ballistic-missile program is integral to the deal—fittingly, since Iran’s missiles would deliver its nuclear warheads.

The ayatollahs have neither the desire nor the incentive to renegotiate even a comma of the agreement. Why should they, when it is entirely to their advantage?

Both Resolution 2231 and the statement, for example, “call upon” Iran to forgo activity regarding “ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons.”

The U.N. secretary-general recently reported that Iran is violating this provision and implicitly lying about it. But the deal’s language allows Iran to claim solemnly that its missiles are not “designed” to carry nuclear warheads, an assertion whose verification would require polygraphs and psychologists, not weapons inspectors. This is one of many textual loopholes.
If the deal is vitiated, Tehran would not be freer than it is now to pursue nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. Not only is the international compliance regime a far cry from Mr. Obama’s promised “anytime, anywhere” inspections, crucial language is vague and ambiguous.

Mr. Obama’s negotiators crippled real international verification by pre-emptively surrendering on what were delicately termed “possible military dimensions” of Iran’s nuclear program.

Moreover, simple economic logic suggests that Tehran’s scientists are probably enjoying Pyongyang’s hospitality, well beyond the International Atomic Energy Agency’s limited capability to detect.

Even U.S. intelligence could be in the dark if Iran is renting a uranium enrichment facility under a North Korean mountain. It is specious to assert that the North Korean nuclear crisis should lead to deferring action on the Iran deal. The conclusion should be precisely the opposite: Failure to act decisively on Iran now worsens the global proliferation threat.
The IAEA has interpreted Mr. Obama’s possible-military-dimension concession as requiring new evidence before it attempts to visit Tehran’s military bases, where the real work on weaponization and missiles is taking place—if not under mountains in North Korea.

Mr. Obama acquiesced in this emasculation of the IAEA’s will to inspect, making the agency today like the drunk looking for his car keys under a street lamp because the light is better there. This is a sorry caricature of a robust, Reaganesque “trust but verify” regime.

Perhaps the most inane argument is that Congress should decide the deal’s fate and whether to reimpose U.S. sanctions. If a president is unwilling to solve this kind of problem, he shouldn’t have applied for the job.

Watching what has happened on failed legislative efforts to repeal and replace ObamaCare, can anyone doubt that Senate Democrats (joined by Rand Paul ) would filibuster any legislative effort to renew sanctions?
The only sure way to resume economic pressure on Iran is for President Trump to stop waiving the sanctions, as he did a few weeks ago. The power to act is in executive hands, as it should be.
Mr. Trump knows his mind on Iran. And as Mr. Laxalt said to Marcos, “the time has come” to act decisively.
Mr. Bolton is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and author of “Surrender Is Not an Option: Defending America at the United Nations and Abroad” (Simon & Schuster, 2007).

When Palestinian Arabs cry “Humiliation”

October 3, 2017

By Eli E. Hertz

(II Commentary – Jerome S. Kaufman)
As a direct result of the stabbings, car ramming and suicide bombings visited upon the Israelis by Palestinian terrorists, frequently occurring at checkpoints from Palestinian terrorists, the poor Palestinian Arabs complain they feel humiliated and harassed when Israeli authorities search them and their belongings.

They are thus, they claim, are prevented from traveling freely because of checkpoints, roadblocks, closures and curfews. They say they feel corralled behind security fences and ugly concrete walls. Perhaps they might consider the cause and necessity of these life saving security measures.

Meanwhile the Israelis themselves are searched numerous times during the course of a day. Israelis are asked to open their bags and purses for inspection. In most cases, they are subjected to body searches with a metal detector every time they enter a bank or a post office, pick up a bottle of milk at the supermarket, enter a mall or train station, or visit a hospital or medical clinic. As a matter of routine, Israelis’ car trunks are searched every time they enter a well-trafficked parking lot.

Not one U.N. organ has protested the fact that, for years, an entire country has been harassed and humiliated.

Israelis are searched not only when they go out for a cup of coffee at the local Coffee-shop, but also when they go to the movies or the theater or a concert, where the term “dressed to kill” has an entirely different meaning.

These ordinary daily humiliations now extend to similar searches when Israelis go to weddings or bar mitzvahs. No one abroad talks about the humiliation Jews in Israel are subjected to, having to write at the bottom of wedding invitations and other life cycle events, “The site will be secured [by armed guards]” – to ensure relatives and friends will attend and share their joyous occasion.

To date, no one protests the fact that Jewish schoolchildren in Israel are surrounded by perimeter fences with armed guards at the schoolyard gates.

Not one Arab village in Israel or the Territories has a perimeter fence around it. Guards are not required at Arabic shops, cafes, restaurants, movie theaters, wedding halls or schools – either in Israel or in the Territories. Palestinians also do not need armed guards to accompany every school trip, youth movement hike or campout. They are not targets of terrorism. Israeli citizens with very rare exception do not commit terrorist acts against other people and the Arabs know it and take full advantage.

Israelis are told, in effect, to disguise themselves when traveling abroad – not to speak Hebrew in public and not to wear garments that reveal their Jewish/Israeli origins.

On the other hand, Arabs who frequent Jewish cities and towns in Israel wear their traditional Arab headgear without fear of being attacked or harassed.

Even Israel’s national airline – El Al – has been forced to remove its logo from the tails of its aircraft at certain airports, out of concern for the safety of its passengers.

This followed several attempts to down Israeli civilian aircrafts with missiles – one of which blew up a Swissair flight in mid-air from Zurich to Tel Aviv in February 1970, killing all 47 passengers and crew aboard.

Strangely, no media outlets and not a single human rights organization has fully and objectively reported or protested the daily humiliation and harassment Israelis suffer because of the Palestinian Authority’s ‘factory of terror.’

Not one U.N. organ has protested the fact that, for years, an entire country has been harassed and humiliated.

All this begs the question: Who are the victims and who are the victimizers? Who are the ones being harassed and humiliated? Palestinians or Israelis?

Brandeis Award (2005).

II Unfortunately, American citizens are well on the way to becoming victims themselves. It all started with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat blowing up civilian aircraft in airports all over the world.

Read: www.defenddemocracy.org/…/the-father-of-modern-terrorism-the-true-legacy-of-yas…

The Father of Modern Terrorism; The True Legacy of Yasser Arafat … The first efforts were ham-handed: failed attempts in 1965 to bomb the … soon became innovators in a tactic later refined by al Qaeda: the civilian airliner as terror weapon.

This mode of terrorism progressed directly to the Islamic
terrorists blowing up our own Twin Towers 09/11/2001.

And not identifying your enemy as now practiced by the vital security agencies of the Federal government and the US Dept. of State; obscuring the fact that the far greater incidence of this terror is caused by Muslim Islamic terrorists is making matters exponentially worse.

As a result, just as in Israel, we Americans are rapidly becoming the victims while the sources of the terror, pray upon our naivety, cleverly complaining of their own “humiliation” and encroachment upon their civil liberties.

Maybe we should stop playing the sucker. Rather, let us identify the enemy and unapologetically maintain intense surveillance over all areas where the poison of Islamic Terrorism and Sharia Law is preached and the relentless, frighteningly effective brain washing takes place.

It’s interesting that Democrats, the media and all the other anti-America groups are badmouthing Donald Trump, trying to impeach him even though …

… he never did anything even remotely impeachable and yet they gave Barack Obama a pass for eight years.  Try to find even 1% of the things that Trump has done that are as bad as the things listed below about Obama – and I’m sure that this list only scratches the surface of Obama’s wrong doings.

Any one of these ‘coincidences’ when taken singularly appear to not mean much, but when taken as a whole, a computer would blow a main circuit if you asked it to calculate the odds that they have occurred by chance alone.  The bigger picture of most recent events I.e., Fast and furious, Benghazi , the IRS scandal and the NSA revelations…

Barack Hussein Obama:
just happened to know 60s far-left radical revolutionary William Ayers, whose father

just happened to be Thomas Ayers, who

just happened to be a close friend of Obama’s communist mentor Frank Marshall Davis, who

just happened to work at the communist-sympathizing Chicago Defender with Vernon Jarrett, who

just happened to later become the father-in-law of Iranian-born leftist Valerie Jarrett, who Obama

just happened to choose as his closest White House adviser, and who
just happened to have been CEO of Habitat Company, which

just happened to manage public housing in Chicago, which

just happened to get millions of dollars from the Illinois state legislature, and which

just happened not to properly maintain the housing which eventually
just happened to require demolition. Not to mention that this is the property that would have been the grounds that hosted the Olympics,
had Obama’s efforts been successful
Valerie Jarrett:

just happened to work for the city of Chicago, and
LaVaughan Robinson (later Mrs. Obama), who

just happened to have worked at the Sidney Austin law firm, where former fugitive from the FBI Bernardine Dohrn also

just happened to work, and where Barack Obama
just happened to get a summer job.

Bernardine Dohrn

just happened to be married to William Ayers, with whom she

just happened to have hidden from the FBI at a San Francisco marina, along with Donald Warden, who

just happened to change his name to Khalid al-Mansour, and Warden/al-Mansour who

just happened to be a mentor of Black Panther Party founders Huey Newton and Bobby Seale and a close associate of Nation of Islam leader
Louis Farrakhan, and al-Mansour

just happened to be financial adviser to a Saudi Prince, who

just happened to donate cash to Harvard, for which Obama

just happened to get a critical letter of recommendation from Percy Sutton, who

just happened to have been the attorney for Malcolm X, who

just happened to know Kenyan politician Tom Mboya, who

just happened to be a close friend of Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., who

just happened to meet Malcolm X when he traveled to Kenya .

Obama, Sr.
just happened to have his education at the University of Hawaii paid for by the Laubach Literacy Institute, which

just happened to have been supported by Elizabeth Mooney Kirk, who

just happened to be a friend of Malcolm X, who

just happened to have been associated with the Nation of Islam, which was later headed by Louis Farrakhan, who

just happens to live very close to Obamas Chicago mansion, which also
just happens to be located very close to the residence of William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who
just happens to have been occasional baby-sitters for Malia and Natasha Obama, whose parents
just happened to have no concern exposing their daughters to bomb-making communists.

After attending Occidental College and Columbia University, where he

just happened to have foreign Muslim roommates, Obama moved to Chicago to work for the Industrial Areas Foundation, an organization that

just happened to have been founded by Marxist and radical agitator Saul the Red Alinsky, author of Rules for Radicals, who

just happened to be the topic of Hillary Rodham Clintons thesis at Wellesley College, and Obamas $25,000 salary at IAF

just happened to be funded by a grant from the Woods Fund, which was founded by the Woods family, whose Sahara Coal company

just happened to provide coal to Commonwealth Edison, whose CEO

just happened to be Thomas Ayers, whose son William Ayers

just happened to serve on the board of the Woods Fund, along with Obama.

Obama also worked on voter registration drives in Chicago in the 1980s and

just happened to work with leftist political groups like the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and Socialist International (SI), through which Obama met Carl Davidson, who

just happened to travel to Cuba during the Vietnam War to sabotage the U.S. war effort, and who

just happened to be a former member of the SDS and a member of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, which

just happened to sponsor a 2002 anti-war rally at which Obama spoke, and which

just happened to have been organized by Marilyn Katz, a former SDS activist and later public relations consultant who

just happened to be a long-time friend of Obamas political hatchet man, David Axelrod.

Obama joined Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), whose pastor was Reverend Jeremiah Wright, a fiery orator who

just happened to preach Marxism and Black Liberation Theology and who delivered anti-white, anti-Jew, and anti-American sermons, which Obama

just happened never to hear because he
just happened to miss church only on the days when Wright was at his most enthusiastic, and Obama

just happened never to notice that Oprah Winfrey left the church because it was too radical, and

just happened never to notice that the church gave the vile anti-Semitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan a lifetime achievement award.

Although no one had ever heard of him at the time, Obama

just happened to receive an impossible-to-believe $125,000 advance to write a book about race relations, which he

just happened to fail to write while using the cash to vacation in Bali with his wife Michelle, and despite his record of non-writing he

just happened to receive a second advance, for $40,000, from another publisher, and he eventually completed a manuscript called Dreams From My Father, which

just happened to strongly reflect the writing style of William Ayers, who
just happened to trample on an American flag for the cover photograph of the popular Chicago magazine, which Obama

just happened never to see even though it appeared on newsstands throughout the city.

Obama was hired by the law firm Miner, Banhill and Galland, which

just happened to specialize in negotiating state government contracts to develop low-income housing, and which

just happened to deal with now-imprisoned Tony Rezko and his firm Rezar, and with slumlord Valerie Jarrett, and the law firms Judson Miner

just happened to have been a classmate of Bernardine Dohrn, wife of William Ayers.
In 1994 Obama represented ACORN and another plaintiff in a lawsuit against Citibank for denying mortgages to blacks (Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank Federal Savings Bank), and the lawsuit

just happened to result in banks being blackmailed into approving sub-prime loans for poor credit risks, a trend which

just happened to spread nationwide, and which

just happened to lead to the collapse of the housing bubble, which

just happened to help Obama defeat John McCain in the 2008 presidential election.

In 1996 Obama ran for the Illinois State Senate and joined the New Party, which:
just happened to promote Marxism, and Obama was supported by Dr. Quentin Yong, a socialist who

just happened to support a government takeover of the health care system.

In late 1999, Obama purportedly engaged in homosexual activities and cocaine-snorting in the back of a limousine with a man named Larry Sinclair, who claims he was contacted in late 2007 by Donald Young, who

just happened to be the gay choir director of Obamas Chicago church and who shared information with Sinclair about Obama, and Young

just happened to be murdered on December 23, 2007, just weeks after Larry Bland, another gay member of the church

just happened to be murdered, and both murders

just happened to have never been solved. In 2008 Sinclair held a press conference to discuss his claims, and

just happened to be arrested immediately after the event, based on a warrant issued by Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, who

just happens to be the son of Joe Biden.

In 2003 Obama and his wife attended a dinner in honor of Rashid Khalidi, who

just happened to be a former PLO operative, harsh critic of Israel , and advocate of Palestinian rights, and who Obama claims he does not know, even though the Obamas

just happened to have dined more than once at the home of Khalidi and his wife, Mona, and

just happened to have used them as occasional baby-sitters. Obama reportedly praised Khalidi at the decidedly anti-Semitic event, which William Ayers

just happened to also attend, and the event Obama pretends he never attended was sponsored by the Arab American Action Network, to which Obama

just happened to have funneled cash while serving on the board of the Woods Fund with William Ayers, and one speaker at the dinner remarked that if Palestinians cannot secure a return of their land, Israel will never see a day of peace, and entertainment at the dinner included a Muslim children’s dance whose performances

just happened to include simulated be-headings with fake swords, and stomping on American, Israeli, and British flags, and Obama allegedly told the audience that Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine and there has been genocide against the Palestinian people by (the) Israelis, and the Los Angeles Times has a videotape of the event but
just happens to refuse to make it public.

In the 2004 Illinois Democrat primary race for the U.S. Senate, front-runner Blair H:
just happened to be forced out of the race after David Axelrod

just happened to manage to get Hulls sealed divorce records unsealed, which

just happened to enable Obama to win the primary, so he could face popular Republican Jack Ryan, whose sealed child custody records from his divorce

just happened to become unsealed, forcing Ryan to withdraw from the race, which

just happened to enable the unqualified Obama to waltz into the U.S. Senate, where, after a mere 143 days of work, he

just happened to decide he was qualified to run for President of the United States.
