Who is this Jill Stein, Green Party nominee for President of the US? Totally mis-informed and dangerous.

By Jerome S. Kaufman

I just had the misfortune of watching Jill Stein, Presidential nominee of the Green Party being interviewed on Fox News  Sunday morning, August 7, 2016.

Jill Stein has to be one of the most mis-informed people that I have ever heard – at least  if her knowledge of Israel is any criterion.

She, in no uncertain terms, proceeded to link Israel with Saudi Arabia. In the same breath. One of the astounded Fox panel of interviewers asked her if she also included Cuba in the mix with Israel and Saudi Arabia.  She was all for it!

The gist of her discussion was that Israel was an apartheid state with a persecuted Arab minority with limited, if any, civil rights. She obviously does not know this is a complete lie and just the lode stone of Arab propaganda against Israel which evidently,  she has been feeding on for years.

This is also the sick sustenance of  too many others in the now far Left Democrat Party plus the five new members of the Democrat Platform committee that self-hating Jew, Bernie Sanders, has had strategically appointed to the committee.

Stein obviously does not know that Israel is the only democracy in the entire Middle East.

She does not know that, according to Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics, Israel’s population, at the end of 2012, stands at nearly 8 million, of whom 5.9 million are Jews and 1.4 million are Arabs.

She does not know that these Arab are full citizens of Israel  with  absolutely the same legal and civil rights as the Jews of Israel.

She does not know that the Israel political system is the only representative democracy in the Middle East. It is very similar to that of the US. There is a legislative body called the Knesset which has 120 members comparable to our Congress with 435 members.

Of these 120 Knesset members, 17 are now Arabs with 1-2 Druse and constitute over 10% of the membership. They function along side their Israeli Jewish counterparts to make the laws of the land.

She also does not know that the Arabs of Israel have the highest standard of living of any Arabs in the entire Middle East.

She also does not know that they are free to leave Israel anytime they choose and take all their possessions with them.

She does not know that these Arabs prefer to live in Israel and prefer the Israeli government than to be ruled by the PLO of Mahmoud Abbas or the terrorist regime of Hamas that now rule Gaza.

She also does not know that Israel has the most liberal position on the rights of Gays, Lesbians, whatever minority you can name and conducts a nation-wide day to celebrate these minorities.

She does not know that, of course  women in Israel have the same rights as men; that a woman, Golda Meir, has been Prime Minister of the country and that at this moment, of the 120 Knesset members, 26 are women.

Stein kept harping on the $8 million dollars per day that the US “gives” Israel. Whether this number is correct or not I do not know but whether it is or not, it makes no difference.

She does not comprehend that this is the best foreign money the US is spending and no American lives have ever been needed to protect Israel.

Knowledgeable US military people consider Israel the staunchest and the only consistent ally we have in the Middle East. They call Israel the US aircraft carrier in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Furthermore the greater amount of money sent to Israel comes back immediately to the US for the purchase of arms and defensive weaponry that creates thousands of jobs for the American work force, they might otherwise not have.

She also does not know that the US and Israel armed forces constantly have joint military exercises together preparing themselves for any Russian or Iranian or Islamic Nation (ISIS) attempted invasion or advancement.

She also does not know that Haifa is one of the US Navy’s favorite ports of call and US navy personal look forward to their time ashore there.

She surely has not noticed that Jerusalem is the base reporting city for virtually all the journalists reporting on the Middle East – whether they favor Israel or not. It is obviously only in Israel that these foreign correspondents feel safe  and report whatever they choose. Nobody censors the anti-Israel lies that many of these far Left, Arab intimidated journalists report.

She also does not know that Israel helps immeasurably in the improvement of US military equipment by trying it first hand in the many Arab terror attacks against Israel daily.

She also does not know that Israel is the best US source of military intelligence and surveillance of our mutual enemies and is in constant contact with the CIA, the FBI, the Dept. of Homeland Security and all the key departments of the American administration.

So, in fact,  Stein does not know a damn thing about Israel and I suspect, not much more about anything else. She is a discredit to the Green Party or anything else she pretends to represent and she makes Donald Trump and even Hillary Clinton look like stars  in comparison.

Finally, she has absolutely no understanding of the United States vital role in the world.

It is the US that has kept the peace that we have had since the end of the Cold War. Unfortunately, Barack Obama has deliberately destroyed our military strength weakening us terribly in the eyes of our former friends and enemies.

Russia has already gobbled up Crimea, huge tracts of the Ukraine while the Baltic states of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, let alone Poland and the rest of Russia’s immediate neighbors are quaking in their boots legitimately concerned that they will be next on Putin’s menu.

So, what does Stein announce she will do to stop this destruction of our crucial allies? She proudly announces that she plans to cut military spending 50%!

I am sure that Russia is delighted to hear that, along with China taking over the entire South China Sea directly threatening our allies South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Viet Nam and the Philippines. This 50% diminishment must also be very welcome news to North Korea, the Arab State (ISIS) that Obama/Clinton have created along with nuclear powered and suddenly wealthy Iran.

It is absolutely certain then that Stein does not know a damn thing about this awful existential threat.

G-d forbid she should ever have any meaningful control over this nation.

II Jill Stein is Not the Savior the Left (or anyone else) Is Looking For.

JULY 27 2016

Now that Hillary Clinton has officially won the Democratic presidential nomination, chances are we’re going to hear a lot more about Jill Stein.

The Green Party candidate, currently polling in the low single digits nationally, has been gunning for the support of disaffected Bernie Sanders fans, urging them to “keep the revolution going” by getting behind her own long-shot White House bid.

Tuesday, she was on hand at the Democratic convention to meet aggrieved Sanders delegates, some of whom formed a small crowd around her to chant, “Bernie or Jill.”

Thanks to progressive grassroots rage, she may well peel off a few percentage points of the vote come the fall, when she’s expected to be on the ballot in about 47 states.

Which is a pity. Because even by the standards of protest candidates, Stein—whose press team did not respond to an interview request—is an absolutely awful torchbearer for the far left.

She’s a Harvard-trained physician who panders to pseudoscience. She mangles pet policy issues. And her cynical retelling of the past eight years has nothing to do with the reality of recorded history.

Let’s begin with Stein’s platform. Some of the ideas, like a $15 minimum wage and free college tuition, are mainstream these days, thanks to the work of progressive activists and Sanders himself.

Others, like moving to 100 percent renewable energy by 2030 (while ditching nuclear), are deeply unrealistic, if admirable in spirit. And more than a few sound like they were hatched in an old Bay Area commune. Cut defense spending in half and close more than 700 foreign military bases!

Tucked into this long, starry-eyed list of progressive causes are a few lines that remind you of the far left’s fraught relationship with biological science. There’s a call not just to label genetically modified foods but to “put a moratorium on GMOs and pesticides until they are proven safe.”

Never mind that scientists have studied GMOs extensively and found no signs of danger to human health—Stein would like medical researchers to prove a negative.

She would also “Ban neonicotinoids and other pesticides that threaten the survival of bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.” This is a nod to the discredited theory that some pesticides are driving the collapse of honeybee populations (which, by the way, are not actually collapsing).

Again, this is somewhat standard stuff on the far left these days, but coming from a physician, it’s discouraging. It is also in keeping with the last official Green Party platform, from 2014, which supports the “teaching, funding, and practice” of “alternative therapies” such as naturopathy and homeopathy, i.e. funneling money into quack medicine. (Stein first ran for president as a green in 2012).

Worse, though, was Stein’s response during a Reddit AMA when she was asked about her party’s stance on vaccines. Her answer was a 380-word evasion in which she allowed that childhood immunizations had “made a huge contribution to the public health” while simultaneously suggesting that Americans have good reason to be wary of the drug approval process and that there’s “a lot of snake-oil in this system.”

For comparison, consider Bernie Sanders’ answer on the same life or death issue, as reported by as reported by the Daily Beast:

“I think obviously vaccinations work. Vaccination has worked for many, many years.” He went on to note, “I am sensitive to the fact that there are some families who disagree but the difficulty is if I have a kid who is suffering from an illness who is subjected to a kid who walks into a room without vaccines that could kill that child and that’s wrong.”

That’s a straightforward answer about vaccines. Risking the health of other people’s children to satisfy your own minority concerns about medical science is wrong.

This entire discussion suggests Stein has no idea what she’s talking about.

Exactly the same evaluation applies to Stein’s pie in the sky give away economic plans, which are based on a shockingly poor understanding of recent economic history. …

(The list of her hair-brained schemes goes on and on)

(G-d forbid this inane dangerous individual ends up with any authority over the destiny of this great country.) jsk
