Newt Gingrich told this indisputable historical truth and the media and, of course, the Arabs, jumped all over him. As Speaker Gingrich correctly stated, the Arab nations were created from the break up of the Ottoman Empire after its defeat by the Allies in WWI.
There was no Palestinian people or Arab Palestine then or at any other time in history. The Palestinian Liberation Authority (PLO), Arafat’s terror organization, invented the false notion of a Palestinian Arab nation in their charter of 1964. This was a clever ploy conceived after the Israelis had defeated combined Arab forces in 1948 and 1956 and the Arab hope of a military victory was fading fast. The gigantic lie really took off and was pursued even more intently after the Israelis decimated Egypt, Syria. Jordan and their allies in the 1967 Six Day War. The Israelis convincingly took the Arab military option, much to their consternation, off the table.
As a matter of historical fact the term “Palestinian” had always referred to the Jews of that area. The Palestinian Post was a Jewish paper that later became the Jerusalem Post. Furthermore, the Palestinian Brigade in the British army was a Jewish brigade that the British formed to help them defeat the Germans invading North Africa and headed toward Palestine. During this time many of the Arabs were ardent supporters of the Nazis and the German war effort. Yasir Arafat’s uncle, The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin el-Husseini, appointed by the British, was a great fan of Adolph Hitler. He visited him in Germany on several occasions and enlisted Hitler’s support in the hoped for killing of the Jews of Palestine. Newt Gingrich knows all that and it is common knowledge to anyone other than those who, because of their own agenda, have bought into the Arab fable.
Later that night, on ABC, during the Republican candidates for president debate, Newt Gingrich had the courage and honesty to stick to his guns. George Stephanopoulos, one of the ABC hosts asked whether Gingrich, his facts correct or not, should have made such an “incendiary” statement. None of the panelists challenged Gingrich’s historical summary but did waffle a bit as to whether he should have been so forthright. And, therein lies the problem – this failure to tell the truth, to champion this absurd political correctness and thus give our enemies license to disperse their preposterous lies and propaganda. Furthermore, this sort of waffling only confuses our own ability to wage successful war against our enemies, as has been proven so many times in the recent past.
Gingrich went on to say that the Israelis are in an awful situation wherein rockets are fired into their civilian populations daily. Despite this, the Obama administration is trying to force Israel into a fictitious so-called peace process that has never truly existed in the minds of the Arabs. He went on to say that Hamas proudly declares that no Israeli State will continue to exist and every Jew is to be killed. They teach exactly that scenario in their text books published with US aid.
Gingrich also exposed the myth of a “moderate” Fatah faction with Mahmoud Abbas vs. a terrorist faction made up of Hamas. Speaker Gingrich advised the panel and the audience that the Fatah ambassador to India, stated just last month, that there is no disagreement with Hamas. They are on the same page acting upon the belief that the state of Israel has no right to exist.
Finally, Speaker Gingrich stated that the Arab claim and insistents upon the right of return to Israel of generations of so-called Palestinian Arab refugees is based upon a historically false story. Mr. Gingrich made no apology for his statement – quite the opposite. He concluded by saying that someone ought to have the right to tell the truth and stop lying about the facts of the Middle East. This lack of courage in doing so has only perpetuated the problem.
Thunderous audience applause followed Speaker Gingrich’s remarks
